This summer is going to be really hot! I mean of course in geopolitics and economics, but I will spare you my optimistic comments… The truth is that I can’t find the right words. Local utopianism needs a wave or two of multicolored mourning before it can recover!
And then, you know that our project Enterres-Encieux / Newtopia 10 is about Death and the states of being it provokes. Let us assume the suffering of loss. Loss of meaning, loss of confidence, loss of resources, loss of the presence of loved ones. How to experience falling, accompany, welcome…

Yes, death and utopia seem to be compatible and we are always looking for new ideas for our…macabre dances. Anyway, during the last Newtopia workshop in June, the team amazed me again with their creative outburst on the subject. I thank them for their enthusiasm that has been growing since January 2022!

I myself will be working on our materials this summer in Greece, in partnership with the Municipality of Nikiti (Central Macedonia) which has already hosted us in 2021, with the theatrical residency Judith / The Separated Body.

Still on…death, in July and August, Dimitri Tsiapkinis will explore ideas for the 2022 project, in Nikiti, Central Macedonia, Greece :
– July 8: performance with excerpts from the choreographic research of the Enterres-Encieux project at the Ethnographic Museum of Nikiti (63088), as part of the opening of the Exhibition of Fine Arts Graduates of the Aristotle University / Thessaloniki.
– July-August: Enterres – Encieux residency at the Ethnographic Museum of Nikiti (63088)
And in preview, the announcement of Enterres-Encieux / Newtopia 10.5 at the Chapelle des Frères Mineurs, in Tours on October 7-9 ! Performances, screenings, raw art exhibitions by our team and invited artists! Mark your calendars! More details at the end of August in the newsletter.

– New location for the Newtopia workshop in September! Without leaving our dear Rabière on Wednesdays, we will have an additional place for our workshops. It is the multipurpose room of the Centre Socioculturel Plurielles in Tours. By the way, it will be on Fridays! More information in the next Newsletter. Registrations are already open: LINK
