\nOrange Bear-lights II<\/span> is rooted in<\/span> Newtopia<\/span> project, a series of\u00a0<\/span> integrated dance events, realized through a collaboration with the<\/span> University Hospital of Tours (psychiatric service). The first version was presented<\/span> as an improvisation during Newtopia 3.1 in the Villeret space at the Fontaines (2015).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Concept<\/strong><\/p>\n

A solo performance, a kind of one-man show about the personal relationship to trance. A work of choreographic and vocal self-analysis, constantly re-staged. A game with one’s self on the raw impulses, the exhibition of grotesque <\/span>states and<\/span> self-mockery. Transcendence, denial, escapism, resistance and \/ or jubilant regression and healing. Inspired by the automatic writing of a personal poem that touches various subjects dear to the author: the division between dancers and non-dancers, separatism between body and spirit<\/span>, male<\/span> versus female, education,<\/span> manipulation of <\/span>public opinion, the conceptions<\/span> of happiness<\/span><\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n

Loyal to the concept of multireferentiality, Dimitri Tsiapkinis will go through numerous esthetics : post-modern dance, neo-expressionism, conference-performance, song, minimalist techno\u00a0 dancing, butoh, fasciatherapy\/perceptive pedagogy, etc.<\/p>\n

Composition methods : devised theater, fluxus<\/em> and improvisation.<\/p>\n

The artist :<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dimitri Tsiapkinis<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dimitri Tsiapkinis : Graduate of the UNCSA<\/a> (1994, USA) and the CND<\/a> in Paris (1999). Has danced, with various companies in Germany, France, and Greece. As an independent choreographer, he choreographed Ex-Gudrun<\/em> (1992), Fish in the Bottle<\/em> (1994), Regards-Periples<\/em> (1996), Le Jardin Regarde<\/em> (1997). Since 1996, he has been experimenting with somatics (PP \/ Danis Bois<\/a>). He has collaborated with French choreographer Bernardo Montet<\/a> as a performer in three national centers: CCNRB<\/a>, Quartz<\/a>, and CCNT<\/a> (1995-2011). At the meantime, he founded the xsoma<\/a> dance collective in Greece and directed 0,1<\/em> (2002), Apnea<\/em> (2005) and numerous improvisation performances. In 2007 he obtains a Diploma in Art, Movement and Therapy<\/em>, at the Lisbon Modern University and in 2015 a Masters\u2019 degree for his research \u201cContemporary dance in psychiatry\u201d (UFP, Porto \/ Portugal. Currently, he produces his projects as the artistic director of Omnivion<\/a> where he directed : Delirium Tremens<\/em> (2010), 0,2 \/ Thylax (2011), Golden Age<\/em> (2012), Newtopia 1-3<\/em> (2013-2016), etc. He also continues to collaborate with Bernardo Montet (Mawguerite Association) in Morlaix. Since 2007 he\u2019s an assistant in Tai Chi (Chen style) of the 34th<\/sup> generation Shaolin Master Shi Yan Jun in Tours. Additionally, he teaches anatomy and kinesiology for dancers at the National Conservatories of Tours and Brest.<\/p>\n
