“The Maid”

Choreographic performance solo : Ahlam Ettamri

Revisiting my ancestors’  history; that of a Bedouin family who suffered a kidnapping, in an Arab slavery network at the beginning of the 20th century. It is an identity quest expressing and choreographing in a poetic way the tensions that haunt the women of my family. What choreography can do to exorcise a phenomenon that continues to exist in our days in various cultures around the globe. Ahlam Ettamri
